\ud83d\udc4f Our first one-day conference that took place in the Foundation for Research and Technology \u2013 Hellas (FORTH\/ICE-HT) Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences Conference Center has been successfully completed on Thursday 29 June, 10:30-14:30.<\/p>\n

The one-day conference started with the greeting speeches of Mr. Fokion Zaimis, Deputy Governor of Entrepreneurship, Research and Innovation of Region of Western Greece, Dr. Kleomenis Barlos, Emeritus Professor of the Chemistry Department University of Patras, President and CEO of H-CAM S.A and Dr. Theofilos Ioannidis, Director of FORTH\/ICE-HT.<\/p>\n

H-CAM S.A presented their services and activities followed by the current developments in Additive Manufacturing \u00a0(AM) in the field of Biology as discussed by Dr. Maria Klapa, Research Director FORTH\/ICE-HT. Mr. Konstantinos Michanetzis, Co-Founder & CEO Cybersafe\/ Seeders\/ Sylipsis Corp & \u039c\u0399\u03a4 Alumni shown the opportunities and challenges in the Maritime market, while Dr. Tasos Vasiliadis, President iED (Institute of Entrepreneurship Development), Founder and CEO JOIST Innovation Park, expand the usefulness of 3D printing in the field of Education.<\/p>\n

Then, Dr. Eleftheria Maria Pechlivani, Senior Researcher Grade C\u2019 and R&D Manager of the AM Lab at the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) of the Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), presented the range of AM capabilities in their lab. Then, Dr. Panagiotis Stavropoulos, Assistant Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics, University of Patras, introduced the hybrid concept as the evolution in industrial AM process and last but not least, Dr. Vassileios Dracopoulos, Senior Application Scientist FORTH\/ICE-HT & Scientific Manager in H-CAM S.A. discussed the global, as well as, the local market of Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing).<\/p>\n
